Basic care is quick. It helps you notice damage before it becomes a problem.
After a shot
Wipe dirt and grass from the face and grooves with a suitable soft brush or towel. Keep a clean, dry grip. Follow the manufacturer’s care instructions for special finishes.
After a wet round
Dry clubs, empty wet pockets, and let the bag air out. Avoid leaving equipment in a damp trunk or extreme heat. Inspect headcovers before putting them over wet clubs.
Check what wears
Look for slick or cracked grips, loose heads, shaft damage, and worn shoe traction. Clean grips as recommended by the maker. A repair shop can advise when replacement or repair is appropriate.
Prepare your bag
Carry a towel, spare balls and tees, a marker, a ball-mark repair tool, and weather-appropriate essentials. Young players should pack a bag they can comfortably manage.
