One stroke can occasionally contact the ball more than once by accident.
Plain-language guide · Rule 10.1a. Use the current official text and your round’s Local Rules for a ruling.
What to know
Count that stroke only. There is no extra penalty just because the contact happened twice accidentally.
On the course
If a short chip accidentally catches the club again, play the ball from where it stops. Deliberately carrying or pushing the ball is a different issue.
