Playing through is cooperation, not a judgment about who belongs on the course.
Notice the situation
If you have a clear gap ahead and a faster group waits behind, first reduce avoidable delays. A wave-through can help if it is safe and consistent with the course’s instructions.
Communicate clearly
At a suitable spot, say, “You’re moving quicker—would you like to go ahead?” Wait safely out of range and let the group get clear before resuming. Follow marshal instructions when the course is busy.
Accept politely
If invited through, be ready, thank the group, and keep moving. Do not hit into people to pressure them. If the whole course is backed up, passing one group may not solve the delay.
