Your height, movement, and swing matter more than the marketing label on the club.
What a fitter checks
A fitting may examine club length, lie angle, shaft weight, flexibility, loft, and grip size. Measurements give a starting point; hitting shots helps show what works in motion.
Ask for a fair comparison
Use your normal swing. Compare control, contact, flight, and comfortable distance—not just the longest shot. Ask the fitter to explain the results and the total cost. You should understand why a change is recommended.
For women, juniors, and new players
There is no single club specification that fits everyone in a demographic. A strong junior may need a different setup from a smaller beginner. Adults with different heights or strength levels need different options too. Recheck young players as they grow.
Keep perspective
A fitting can help you choose appropriate tools. It does not replace coaching or guarantee a lower score. A basic fit check can be useful even when you are keeping a modest used set.
