Course care is part of playing golf. Small repairs make the next person’s shot better.
Ball marks
Use a repair tool around the outside of the mark and gently push the surrounding turf toward the center. Tap it level. Avoid levering the center upward, which can damage roots. Ask staff to demonstrate if you are unsure.
Divots
Follow the course’s method. Some want the turf replaced and pressed down; others provide a sand mix. Do not assume the same repair suits every grass or season.
Bunkers
Enter and leave from a safe, low edge. After your shot, smooth footprints and the disturbed area. Put the rake where the course asks. Repairing a bunker does not mean testing or improving the sand around your ball before a stroke.
Daily respect
Collect litter, avoid unnecessary practice-swing divots, and respect maintenance staff. If you can repair an extra ball mark without delaying play, do it.
